Extending Mercy to Others

1.
When Jehovah decreed that a deluge
Should destroy that old world long ago,
Then to Noah he gave a commission:
'Build a boat, preach the Word, let men know!'
Now, did Noah reject that assignment
'Cause he never had built boats before?
No, but he made good use of God's mercy
And he built and he preached "more and more".

2.
Now today this old world too is ending
And in mercy our God has decreed
That the news of its finish be given
So that whoever will may give heed.
Have you said, "I cannot preach the good news;
I'm untrained and am slow in my speech"?
But if you have received of God's mercy,
Then his spirit can help you to preach.

3.
God has brought truth and mercy together,
And rejoicing is found in our 'land'.
Pleasant foretaste of New World conditions
We'll enjoy if we heed his command.
Now it's ours to show mercy to others
By exhorting all men far and near:
"Flee at once to Jehovah's great mountain,
To the kingdom of God that is here!"

1.
大昔、エホバはお命じになった、
大洪水が古い世を滅ぼすように、と。
そのとき、神はノアに任務をお与えになった、
「舟を建て、神の言葉を宣べ伝え、人々に知らせよ！」
さて、ノアは舟を建てたことがないからといって
その任命を断っただろうか？
否、ノアは神の憐れみを善用し
「ますます」 力を込めて舟を建て、宣べ伝えた。

2.
今日、この古い世も終わりを迎えており、
神は憐みを込めてお命じになった。
この世の終わりを知らせて、
誰でも望む人が注意を払えるようにせよ、と。
「私は良いたより （福音） を宣べ伝えることができない。
私は話すのが下手だし遅いから」 と思ったことがあるか？
しかし、もし神の憐れみを受けたのなら、
神の霊が宣教を助けてくれる。

3.
神が真理と憐れみをいっしょに賜ったので
私たちの 「地」 には歓びがあふれる。
神のご命令に聞き従うならば、
新世界状態の喜ばしい前触れが楽しめるだろう。
今度は私たちがほかの人々に憐れみを示す番だ。
遠くても近くでも、すべての人々にこう勧めよう、
「今すぐ逃れよ、エホバの大いなる山へ、
すでに到来した神の王国へ！」 と。
