In this old system, full of woe,
Depressed with doubt and fear,
Jehovah's people tell mankind:
'Let all be of good cheer!'
They say that, thru God's kingdom grand,
Sweet peace o'er earth will reign
And men will gain eternal life,
Exempt from fear and pain. |

Since this old system soon will end,
And then a paradise
Will cover all this earthly ball
And e'en the dead will rise.
We no more slave for Satan's world;
The Kingdom first we seek.
We learn how kind God really is
To all who would be meek. |

E'en here, in this ungodly world,
Just as our Lord foretold,
Those who now for the Kingdom's sake
Leave all get hundredfold
In brothers, sisters, mothers, friends,
With persecutions too.
God's blessing truly makes us rich
As we his will e'er do. |
