   Yields not his soul unto fear,
   But lifts the banner of hope 'mid earth's darkness,
   Until the day dawn appear.

     Thus saith Jehovah, I'll strengthen and help thee,
     Fear not, my people, to smite.

2. Faith is the pow'r, which spurs love to action,
   Love prompts to faithfulness now.
   Zeal for their King moves the hearts of the loyal,
   Selfish ambition must bow.

3. See in the midst of danger impending,
   Brave hearts with joy keeping time.
   Dread of the battle shows not on their faces,
   Beam they with courage sublime. (*)

4. Forward! Jehovah, mighty in battle,
   Exhorts us faithful to be
   Till this world's systems lie shorn of their glory,
   And he hath gained victory.
